Watercolor paintings take the least amount of prep work before the actual painting. One of the main aspects is the paper. I also use all types of paper from inexpensive student grade to very expensive large sheets. Most of my sketch type work or paintings I intend to scan are done on less expensive paper. Keep Reading

The Process of Art – Ideas
Artists work in a lot of different methods or processes. Some are exact and meticulous, planning every step of the way. Some are spontaneous and loose, throwing their ideas out into the world and rapidly as they can. My artistic process is somewhere in the middle. Looking for Ideas Like most visual artists, I keep Keep Reading
5 Before 50
Belleair Coffee Company & Roastery, Belleair Bluffs I had an early appointment for a lab draw this cold Valentine morning. On the way there I was listening to a podcast, Live Free Creative by Miranda Anderson. She just turned 39 and was talking about making a 4 before 40 list. She went over ideas from Keep Reading

She’s has 4 children, 8 grandchildren (of which I’m the oldest and only girl, can we say spoiled?), 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. This doesn’t Keep Reading

Indian Shores Coffee, Indian Shores, Florida This is my first venture out to a coffee shop since the pandemic shut so much down this year. I have to admit I haven’t been as motivated to head out for coffee since I moved. My back porch is very inviting and my favorite coffee hangout these days. Keep Reading
Update During the Shutdown
Front Porch, Largo, FL When I wrote my first Coffee House Conversation almost 2 months ago, I envisioned visiting a new or favorite coffee shop every week. And then the world stopped. In all fairness, I was missing the weekly deadline all on my own. I did visit one other place before the Covid-19 lockdown, Keep Reading
Taking Advantage of a Quick Stop
Astoria Pastry Shop, Belleair Bluffs, FL I decided I needed a coffee one afternoon while running errands. Astoria Pastry Shop is tucked away amidst some smaller shops in Belleair Bluffs. It took me one drive by and a u-turn to find it but I was glad I did! I sat outside in their small courtyard Keep Reading
