Biography

I believe art should be a source of wonder that connects us to our personal stories. Using acrylics and mixed media, I intensify the beauty of the natural world to trigger memory and emotion, moving beyond the physical to the spiritual. I don’t just see the world as it is…I see the possibilities.

Biography

charlotte demolay and roseate spoonbill painting

Exploring the dynamic relationship between humanity and the natural world, Charlotte DeMolay employs layers and textures to create evocative works in acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and mixed media. She enhances the viewing experience through vibrant color palettes, unconventional perspectives, and rich textures that push her paintings toward the sculptural.

A dedicated artist and instructor for over 35 years, Charlotte has built an extensive exhibition record, participating in numerous solo, group, and juried shows and earning several awards. Her versatile work, featured in private collections nationwide, also spans diverse projects including children’s book illustrations, murals, and private commissions.

Educated with a BFA from UNC Greensboro, Charlotte’s artistic journey led her from North Carolina and Texas to her current home base in Riverview, Florida. Here, the abundant local environment inspires her creative practice. She divides her time between painting, gardening, and wildlife photography—initially a tool for reference, photography has now emerged as a distinct artistic medium in her repertoire.
