Messy Disclaimer

In order for art to be fun, sometimes it has to be messy. I will provide smocks but sometimes accidents happen and stuff leaks through smocks or shirt sleeves are pushed up with messy hands. Please dress your children appropriately for art! I am not responsible for stained clothing!

About Me

I have a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have been teaching art in a variety of settings for over 15 years.

My love of art stems from a lifelong joy of learning. This joy translates into excitement and energy when I am in my studio creating, experimenting and, ultimately, learning! I strive to capture this energy in my paintings of nature scenes, animals, and people.

I work in a variety of mediums including pastel, acrylic, oil, and watercolor in a loose, energetic style. The biggest artistic influence on my work is the Impressionists and many of the graphic artists of the Art Nouveau period. My faith, family, and the fantastically creative children and adults I have been privileged to teach are my inspiration and encouragement.

My studio is in my home in Sachse, Texas. I display my paintings in local and other galleries as well as by appointment in my studio. I also do commissions including people and pet portraits.
