Freedom and boundaries, open and enclosed, nature and man: my art is an exploration of the tension and harmony created by these contrasts. I take the viewer into the middle of the struggle through layers, texture and lines. Is there peace? Is there conflict? Is this decided by the composition or it is decided by the viewer’s world-view? These questions are what I explore in my paintings.
I work primarily in acrylic paint in a loose, realistic style. I am fascinated by texture and blurring the line between canvas and sculpture. Although nature is my subject, I intensify the viewing experience with brighter colors, unusual viewpoints, and vivid texture.
